Assistant Professor

I am an assistant professor at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering (IDE) at TU Delft. My research focuses on the integration of computer support tools to aid collaboration in early design, and the use of visualization and visual analytics techniques to understand how designers work together. At the IDE, I am part of the Designing Intelligence Lab (DI_Lab), working towards developing tools and methods that allow human and artificial intelligences to collaborate creatively.

I received my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 2016 from Purdue University, West Lafayette, where I worked with Prof. Karthik Ramani at the C Design Lab. I subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Niklas Elmqvist in the Human-Computer Interaction Lab (HCIL) at the University of Maryland, College Park, and then with Prof. Kwan-Liu Ma at the Visualization & Interface Design Innovation (VIDI) Lab at the University of California, Davis. In a past life before graduate school, I also worked on engineering design, structural analysis, and knowledge-based engineering in the automotive and heavy engineering sectors in India.
